Artificial Intelligence

Advancements in artificial intelligence are making possible the creation of robots which can learn in real-time. Complex algorithms are opening a way for robots to recognize objects or learn new ones.

This kind of technology will allow the application of machines in more dynamic tasks.

In the next video we can see "ARMAR-III", a humanoid robot recognizing and learning objects dynamically and in real time.

Honda, a known brand of motorcycles, cars and other engine based products (and more) is also investing in researching the field of artificial intelligence.
"ASIMO", the name of his humanoid robot, is another example of artificial intelligence applied in a machine. The next video dates from 2009 and shows "ASIMO" in action:

Until now, no matters how much processing power they have, how much smart they are. Robots are always restricted by their "muscles", but this paradigm could be ready to change with the discovery of a new kind of artificial super muscle.

Accordingly to Adrian Koh, from Singapore National University, this was what was missing to create robots which look less like machines, and more like living beings.

Artificial super muscles were recently discovered and promise to change that weak point of humanoid robots. They are able to lift 80 times their weight, and stretch 5 times its length. - Translated directly from the source: (http://www.inovacaotecnologica.com.br/noticias/noticia.php?artigo=super-musculo-artificial&id=010180130923)
